I read with interest your information on CDNN. Unfortunately I too have been
a victim of the site SCUBALINX. Following is a brief rundown on my problem.
About a year ago, I applied to have a link exchange on the Scubalinx site. I
received a mail saying that I was to put their logo and link on my home page
and about 4 to 6 weeks later I would be listed for free of charge on their site.
Several months later I realised that I was still not listed, although most of
my competitors were listed even though they did not have a return link. Also,
their notes were not at all realistic. I am very familiar with these dive centres.
One example is a centre who had very high notes as an eco operator when this
company is notorious for anchoring in the coral. Another centre was noted on
a web site which doesn't exist.
Once again, I contacted Scubalinx and this time I received a mail from somebody
called Chloe de Lima inviting me to participate in a paid advertisement.
I replied that I was not against the idea, but before continuing I expected them
to honor their previous agreement. This led to an endless stream of mails which
became more agressive each day. I began to understand that this was not a normal
scuba diving portal and I removed their link and ceased all correspondance after
which I received one last mail telling me that I was incompetent, dishonest,
dangerous etc. A couple of days later I checked their site and found my company
listed with very bad notes. He even went as far as putting a ghastly photo
of myself.
To be sure that I was not mistaken, I asked friends to try to contact me through
the site, but I course I never received these mails. They also sent votes of
10, but my ratings never changed which only confirms that I have been a victim
of a spiteful, dishonest and manipulating person.
Although the mails were signed my someone called Chloe, I feel that this was
not a woman who wrote to me.
My advice to everybody is to keep well away from this person who is clearly dangerous.
